Growth Hackers are people who question society’s given path for how to get to success, and instead determine to plot their own course by having the audacity to question the “rules of the game" (think David vs Goliath). This could be how they approach getting a job they aren’t “qualified” for, climb the corporate ladder against the odds, or even build a successful business without funding that manages to compete with huge public companies.
Over the last 2 decades I’ve been on an amazing journey as I’ve navigated my way from part-time bookkeeper in high school, thru an accounting degree, into a corporate accounting job, and then going on a journey thru entrepreneurship. (I’ve successfully built and scaled various businesses - one that has been on the Inc 5000 list for 7 years!)
For the past 15 years I’ve dedicated my life to helping employers with their hiring processes, and now have a deep understanding of how they approach selecting the people they hire. (Yes… thru my business ApplicantPro, I actually provide hiring software & advice to over 6000 employers in every State and in almost every possible Industry!)
A few years back, I started a side business (refer.io) where we would help job seekers find job openings. We currently send over 30 million emails a month to over 1.3 million job seekers.
While it’s great to send out lists of open jobs, what I really love doing is teaching and mentoring people on how to “hack” their way into their dream job or business. As the CEO of ApplicantPro (140 employees and counting), I’ve had the amazing opportunity of helping people grow into jobs that they never would have been hired for by most employers. This has included everyone from programmers who taught themselves to code, product managers from non tech fields, and amazing moms who are looking for a successful career after taking time off to start and raise a family.
